Feldenkrais meets Yoga
“Nothing is permanent about our behaviour patterns except our belief that they are so” Moshe Feldekrais
If you haven’t come across it before, the Feldenkrais Method©, often referred to simply as “Feldenkrais” or “Feldy” is a movement-based learning system offering a unique approach to self-understanding and improving function. Its effectiveness lies in helping people access their nervous systems own innate process for change and reorganization.
In our daily activities and also in our Yoga practices we can get stuck in our habits, and fixed in our ways of moving and being. These lessons provide participants the opportunity to sense and explore movements in a different way, gently resolving conflict between muscle groups at a neurological level to create changes that are deeply sensed. It can improve balance, co- ordination, flexibility and strength, but what brings people back to class is the way it enables students to feel more comfortable in their bodies and enables more vitality and resilience.
Here is a short video that really captures the essence and vitality of Feldenkrais Lessons.
